Platters

The platter form currently made by Jacob has evolved into more than a simple utilitarian piece. While the platters are functional cooking and serving ware, the trend over the last twenty or so years has been to use this form as a venue for artistic statement. Carving and glaze-on-glaze decorative techniques seem to fit the canvas-like possibility of the platter, especially at a larger scale. Many find these platters great for celebratory occasions, such as weddings, anniversaries, or awards. There is space on the underside of the piece to inscribe names and dates. It makes the platter a wonderfully personal gift to receive.

The standard size is 14" - 15" and are $150, 19" - 20" are $300
